About Us

The Max Wall Society was launched successfully on 1st July 2003 in appreciation of an entertainer and actor whose remarkable talent remains a fond memory 18 years after his death in 1990.

The objective of the Society is to perpetuate his memory by uniting individuals in shared recollection through regular meetings, events
and the publication of Wallpaper,
our newsletter.

The Society has placed a plaque on Max’s Brixton birthplace and has also produced a CD on which Max Wall may be heard singing some of his own compositions. In addition,
an exhibition was staged at the Greenwich Theatre portraying his life as both actor and comedian.
A dinner is held annually.

2008 saw the hundredth anniversary of his birth on March 12th. A celebratory dinner was held at the elegant Savile Club.

It is well established that Max Wall’s family are descendants of the Great Wall of China, so naturally members of the Society become Bricks. See Membership section to apply.
